National Service - supports with practical tasks to manage wellbeing and social connection

Business Name

MeetMolly

Description

MeetMolly is a telephone-based service designed to support unpaid carers and the people they care for. It helps people stay connected, maintain daily routines and remain independent, while giving carers greater reassurance and peace of mind. The service works through friendly phone calls to landlines or mobile phones. No smartphones, apps or other technology are required. MeetMolly offers three services, which can be used individually or together: Medication & Routine Reminders – personalised reminder calls for medication, hydration and other time-sensitive routines. Wellbeing Check-ins – regular friendly calls providing conversation, companionship and support with loneliness and social isolation. Making New Connections – helps people connect with others of a similar age and with similar interests through shared telephone calls.

How this service works

Medication & Routine Reminders

MeetMolly makes personalised calls to remind people about medication, hydration and other daily routines. If three reminder calls are missed at the scheduled time, the carer receives a real-time SMS/text notification so they can follow up.

Wellbeing Check-ins

Regular wellbeing calls provide friendly conversation and companionship. Molly can talk about hobbies, interests and life experiences, remembering previous conversations.

If Molly identifies a potential wellbeing or safeguarding concern during a conversation, such as distress, feeling unwell or suicidal thoughts, the carer is notified by real-time SMS/text notification.

Making New Connections

MeetMolly matches people who want to meet others with similar ages and interests. Molly calls both participants simultaneously and securely connects them on a shared phone call, keeping their personal phone numbers private.

After introducing both participants, Molly leaves the call so they can have their own conversation. Calls typically last 15–20 minutes. If they choose, friendships can progress to meeting for coffee, attending community groups or enjoying local activities together.
